So this is my first Five-minute Friday post and I'm supposed to focus. Focus on what? On what I have to write about focussing... Hmmm, come on, Dawn, concentrate. Focus, even.
So some of my kids have apparently had trouble focussing over the past few months which has resulted in new glasses for the two that weren't already wearing glasses and aren't a two-year-old...
But what's my focus? To love and respect my husband? To care for, train, discipline and unconditionally love my children? To give glory to my Creator and allow him to make me more like Jesus? Sometimes that's easy, sometimes not so much. My focus slips, onto me and what I want. Onto stuff and nothing in particular. Onto trivial, fruitless stuff that's not even worth mentioning.
Why do I do it? Because I'm flawed. A hopeless sinner given hope by the One who knows perfection, knows humanity, knows death and waits to return and make all new. Then I'll focus.
In the meantime, I'll (try to) fix my eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of my faith... Focus on him, He's the only one worth looking at...

Amen, sista! He is the only One worth looking at, so we've got to FOCUS on that! Way to jump on in to the FMF. Good stuff! Happy Friday!

Indeed my feet from stumbling,
So that I may walk before God
In the light of the living." ~Psalm 56:13
Hello! This is my first time linking with this 5 minute friday, too! That's so true and a good reminder of how God is our Perfecter...not us! Blessed by your blog!
